11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.
God is good!
The past 2+ years have done nothing but confirm this more and more. For those of you who I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Devin Smith and it is my honor to be the new Pastor here at Emmanuel. I have had the pleasure of working with two gentleman that you all know, Pastor Aaron Kesson and Pastor Zack Dunlap. Both of them have had a large impact on my life and my faith. It is a great honor to follow in their footsteps here at Emmanuel and to continue the work that God has called us all to.
While I have been involved with the Church in various capacities over the years I am very excited for this next step in my call. Just a few years ago I never imagined that I would find myself preparing to transition to full time ministry but God has a plan for each of us. Often while we are busy making our grand plans God has something different in mind. My challenge for all of us at Emmanuel is to be open to God’s call on your life. While it likely is not going to come from a burning bush or a heavenly chorus of angels take time to listen this day and you may find an exciting new plan waiting for you.
We truly serve an awesome God and I am excited about all that He has planned for us here at Emmanuel.
